Overview of & Instructions for Managing Custom Content Types

Out-of-the-box installations of Drupal include the following content types:

  • Article: typically used for blog posts, news articles; can be aggregated into a listing page
  • Basic Page:  used for typical standalone pages

Additionally, most Drupal sites include the following content type:

  • Webform:  used for standalone contact forms, application forms, and more.  Refer to the Webforms section for specifics on managing webforms.

In addition to the basic content types defined above, your site utilizes ____ custom content types:

  • Custom Content Type: description

NOTE: Various user roles may have limited access to which content types they can edit/manage.

In addition to the content types above, the site utilizes various "taxonomies" or sets of custom classifications.  This includes the following:
  • Custom Taxonomy Vocabulary: description

Content managers may be able to add new classifications within some of these groups; while others require programmatic updates in addition to adding the terms to the taxonomy.
