Typical Content Entry Form - Title Field Considerations

The screenshot below depicts an example of a content entry form after clicking ADD CONTENT and selecting a content type. Each content type may have its own custom fields for data.  Generally speaking, the more fields- the more refined and consistent the look of the rendered content on your website will be.

Title Field Considerations

Every content entry will have a mandatory Title field near the top of the form.   For many content types, the Title is used for three purposes:

  1. the title that appears to search engines and in the browser tab/window title bar
  2. the individual detail page/template's main heading/headline
  3. a searchable field in the content overview listing and internal lookups for reference/link fields.

For content types that do not have standalone templates and only appear embedded/encapsulated in other templates and content types, this field is only used for the 3rd purpose noted above.
